The guesthouse is situated on a remote family-owned estate close to a tiny village in the Sierra Alhamilla.
This village is famous for its thermal spring waters rising surfacing at 58°C. Surrounded by mountains and the desert, this oasis with hundreds of palm trees, offers fantastic hiking (biking, free climbing and paragliding) possibilities and counts on about 300 days of sun as well as starry night skies.
The charm of the guesthouse lies in its simple style filled with personal elements, the swimming pool and the magnificent view of the Mediterranean Sea, whose beaches can be reached in 35 minutes (Cabo de Gata).
Musicians enjoy a tuned piano. Writers enjoy many spots with the best view for their creative moments. Not to mention all the possibilities for walking, hiking, free climbing and paragliding. So close to heaven!
Above all, the calm of the place is overwhelming.

El cotijo de los pescados is a very special place. If you search for quiteness, consciousness and yourself it is the best location you can go. It is an open space.

Als erstes und am meisten habe ich die absolute Ruhe genossen: kein Straßenlärm, keine Flugzeuge, kein Radio-/Fernsehradau von Nachbarn. Dann und wann mal ein Bellen des Hundes, das Zwitschern der Schwalben, das Rauschen der Blätter an den riesigen Eukalyptusbäumen, das Summen der Bienen in den dichten Sträuchern, das Scharren der Harke, wenn Margaret den Vorplatz vom Laub befreit, das Miauen der Katze, wenn sie hungrig ist, oder das Fauchen, wenn sie ihr Revier gegen Eindringlinge verteidigt (aber ansonsten meistens schläfrig auf Polstern oder Baumstümpfen döst). Eine ideale Atmosphäre zum erholsamen Arbeiten und entspannenden Nachdenken. Und wenn man Gesellschaft und Gastfreundschaft liebt, dann hat Margaret meist Zeit und Muse für Gespräche, Essen, Nüsse aus eigenen Garten, Tomaten vom Nachbarn, ein Glas Wein aus der Gegend … oder sie nimmt einen gleich mit zu ihrer spanischen Familie in den Dorfkrug. D.h. ein Dorf gibt es ja gar nicht, nur ein paar wenige Häuser am Ende der Straße, die sich von Pechina herauf windet. Dorf oder nicht, die zwei kleinen Bars neben der heißen Quelle bieten so ausgezeichnetes und kostengünstiges Essen, dass man selbst als leidenschaftlicher Koch gern (mal) die eigene Küche kalt lässt. Und wie überall in Spanien ist auch hier der Brandy nicht zu verachten. Hat man dann genug nachgedacht und geschrieben und weder Hunger noch Lust auf ein Glas, dann bietet die nähere und die weitere Umgebung die schönsten Gelegenheiten zum spazieren gehen, klettern, fotografieren. Und nach Sonnenuntergang gibt es außer den Sternen über dir nur die kleinen Lichter weit drunten/draußen Richtung Küste. Ach, ich will ganz schnell wieder dahin . . ..
The place we`ve found was amazing, it was much more than we expected. The place is perfect choice for those who want to relax in a quiet atmosphere or need to think creativly knowing nothing will disturb them. We`ve fell in love with the place and are hoping to visit it again.
We planned to stay for a week in june. We were very lucky to be able to stay for 2,5 weeks. We got so relaxed we did not feel like moving along. Enjoying the spectaculair view, the buzzing bees and flapping bats. The great dogs and the very hospitable landlady. It’s not just a house somewhere to have a holiday. It’s very personal and we felt at home right away. Good place to get tuned in again after demanding times.
C’est un un endroit paradisiaque au milieu d’une oasis. Idéal pour passer des vacances reposantes..Nous avons été très bien accueillis. Même nos ados sont tombés sous le charme de cet endroit. Nous espérons pouvoir y retourner très prochainement.
